Unity, Growth, and Quality of Life Express "Genius of Adventism," Says World Church President -- In a gathering of the church's executive committee, pastor Jan Paulsen, world church president, challenges church leaders and members to focus more deliberately on the three strategic values of the world church: Unity, Growth, and Quality of Life.

Africa: Growth Prompts Change in Administrative Structure -- Church leaders have endorsed a new administrative structure for the church in Africa--a change prompted in part by extraordinary rates of church growth on the continent.

Adventists Issue Statement on Peace -- Seventh-day Adventists are committed to fostering a culture of peace and reconciliation in today's increasing violent world, according to an official Seventh-day Adventist Church statement endorsed by church leaders April 18.

Church Calls for Unity in South Africa -- Seventh-day Adventist world leaders have called on the church in South Africa to complete the work of racial integration throughout all its administrative structures.

Church Votes for Youth Evangelism Conference in Bangkok -- Church leaders voted April 18 to endorse a youth evangelism conference to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, December 29, 2003 to January 3, 2004.

Church Has Strong Financial Foundation, Says Treasurer -- Sound financial policies mean the General Conference is moving forward in mission from a strong financial foundation, said world church treasurer Robert Rawson in his report to world leaders gathered for Spring Meeting at the church's headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States.


Committee Chooses New World Church Treasurer -- Members of the Seventh-day Adventist executive committee have chosen Robert E. Lemon as treasurer of the world church.
 

Committee Rejects Proposed Changes to Election Process -- The rapid growth of the Seventh-day Adventist Church around the world means there must be a more efficient method of filling top leadership positions, said members of the church's executive committee, meeting April 18 in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States.

Theme Chosen for 2005 World Church Session -- Members of the church's executive committee, meeting at the world church headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, approved the theme April 19, saying it reflects one of the central messages of Adventism.

Leaders Take Step Toward New Wage-Setting System -- Church leaders have approved in principle a proposal they say will give more flexibility to the church's wage-setting system, and will better articulate the spiritual principles on which it is based.

Adventist Leaders Endorse Simplified Offering Proposal -- Members of the Seventh-day Adventist executive committee voted April 19 to move toward a more streamlined offering system worldwide, and they committed to providing more information about how offering funds are divided and used.
